Freida M. Toner, 62, (but everybody knew her as 35) of 311 Bressler Street, Flemington passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville where she was a patient.
Born August 11, 1959 in Lock Haven she was a daughter of the late John Ruggiers, Sr. and Betty (Knauff) Ruggiers.
She was married to Glenn Brungard who died August 4, 2020. She recently reconnected and rekindled her relationship with her first husband John Toner.
Freida worked for Woolrich and STEP Head Start.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lock Haven. She enjoyed her shopping trips with Tina and G.G., spending time with her “hood rats”, baseball, wrestling and was an avid volunteer with little league, wrestling and many other local fundraising events.
She was a volunteer for Babe Ruth Bingo and many other Bingo fundraisers.
Freida was passionate about helping others. She also was a member of the Lock Haven Woman’s Pool League and enjoyed Timmy Bittner Racing events.
Surviving are a son Michael Lee (Debbie) Toner of Mill Hall and a step-son Glenn C. Brungard of Dunnstown one daughter, Nariah Alexis Catherman of Lock Haven and a step-daughter Brooke Brungard of Lock Haven.
Six step-grandchildren, Josie, Gage, Hayden, Domonic, Lillyana and Cora Lynne.
Freida is survived by three brothers, Jeffery (Jean) Ruggiers of Lock Haven, Jamie (Gay) Kline and John Kline both of Mill Hall and two sisters, Tina Louise (Phil) Yothers of Beech Creek and Janet (Dwayne) Boatman of Jersey Shore.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews her two pet dogs Peyton and Reba and her “grand pup” Widdle.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Devin Stacey, three brothers, Greg, Earl and John James, II and a sister Edith Rae Kline.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with a funeral service beginning at 8 p.m. with Pastor Parrish Munro officiating.
Burial will be private at Highland Cemetery in Lock Haven.
