Georgetta (Bowser) Brooks

Georgetta (Bowser) Brooks, 79, of Renovo passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Bucktail Medical Center in S. Renovo. She was the wife of the late Kenneth E. Brooks who passed away on November 1, 2017.

Born December 21, 1941 in New Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Leo Atto and Mary (Smith) Bowser. Georgetta graduated high school in 1961 from Red Bank Valley High School.

She married the love of her life, Kenneth, on September 25, 1965 at the First United Methodist Church in Renovo. The couple shared 52 years of marriage together.

She was a great waitress and cook and worked for various restaurants including the old Kingsley Inn, Pentz Restaurant, and Tripp’s Grill. She loved to spend time on the phone catching up with her friends, especially her best friend, Mary Fleisher

Georgetta is survived by one daughter, Edwina “Winnie” Brooks and her companion, George Mayes of Renovo; one sister-in-law, Rosetta Bowser of New Bethlehem; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eugene Brooks; and three brothers, Clifford, Leo Atto Jr., and Lester Bowser.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 5th St., in Renovo has charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Renovo.
