Irene M. (Garcone) McGuire

Irene M. (Garcone) McGuire, 84, of Renovo, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at Bucktail Medical Center, Renovo.

She was born in Renovo on October 16, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Philip and Genevieve (Tarantella) Garcone.

Irene was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School Class of 1952.  She married George R. McGuire, who survives, on December 23, 1960 and they celebrated 58 years of marriage together last year.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.  Irene is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law; Mike and Deb Walden of Austin and George McGuire of Austin, two daughters and one son-in-law; Cindy and Bart Greeley of Coudersport and Genevieve “Jenny” Gipe of Renovo, 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by one grandson; Kevin M. Greeley, one brother; Joseph Garcone and one sister Rose Mary Shougats.

Services for Irene will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are being handled by Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo.
