John J. O’Toole (Jack), 80, of Renovo passed away Monday, March 23, 2020 at Muncy Valley Hospital.
Born September 24, 1939 in Renovo, Jack was the son of Patrick J. and Carmella V. (Bruno) O’Toole. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Renovo.
Jack had a great love for music and played in various local bands such as, “The Moonlighters, “The Mustangs” and “Blended Sound”; who played a wide range of musical instruments and traveled extensively. He worked for the Forestry Department, Berwick Forge, and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation where he retired early after 21 years following a severe injury.
He will be remembered as a diehard Pittsburgh Steeler and Notre Dame Fan, for his love of fireworks and setting them off as a licensed pyrotechnician, being a huge Elvis Presley fan (especially the song “My Way”), and the pride he held for his Irish Heritage. Jack treasured his trip to Ireland.
Jack is survived by two sisters, Patricia Rauch of Renovo and Connie Conrad of Harrisburg and their families. In addition, he is survived by close nieces, who he shared holidays and special occasions with through the years; as well as friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, aunts, uncles, friends, and his cherished dog, Nate.
