Laura A. (Barklage) Mills

NORTH BEND- Laura Ann (Barklage) Mills, 54, of Summerson Mountain passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She was the beloved wife of John Leo Mills, Jr. with whom she shared over 36 years of marriage.

Born in Jackson county, Missouri, Laura was the daughter of Donald G. and Katherine (Mitchell) Barklage. Laura loved her family and stayed home to raise her daughters before working as a certified nursing assistant at Bucktail Medical Center. In her spare time, Laura loved to read, bake, fish, and hunt.

In addition to her husband, Laura is survived by her father, Donald G. Barklage of South Carolina; three daughters, Anya M. Fuller of North Bend, Beth L. Mills of Smethport, and Natasha A. Mills of Beech Creek; five grandchildren, Joshua Waldeck, Joanie Waldeck, Cameron Fuller, John Leo Fuller, and Riley Ann Smith; one brother, Donald G. Barklage, Jr. of South Carolina; and one sister, Sherry Green of Altoona. She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Barklage; and one daughter, Joanie Kathleen Mills.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Maxwell Funeral Home in Renovo is in charge of arrangements.
