Madeline Mae (Martin) Hurd

LOCK HAVEN - Madeline Mae (Martin) Hurd, 88, of Lock Haven passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Hillside Senior Living in Montoursville where she was living with beloved husband, Richard G. Hurd. The couple shared over 65 years of marriage together.

Born in Salona May 16, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Guy Martin and Carrie (Neff) Fravel. Growing up she loved to be active outdoors, ice-skating, and roller-skating.

After high school, Madeline worked at Sylvania making television tubes and later served as a riveter at Piper Aircraft. In spare time, she volunteered for the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association by advocating throughout local neighborhoods. She enjoyed trips to the beach, reading True Story magazines, and watching soap operas.

In addition to her husband, Madeline is survived by one son, Mark N. Hurd and wife, Mary M. of Lock Haven; three grandchildren, Bill, Stanton, and Christina; and one brother, Carl Fravel. She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen R. Hurd; and sister, Jean Hollenbach.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lock Haven. Helt Funeral Chapel in Mill Hall is in charge of arrangements.
