Drury Run

Ralph S. “Tubber” Summerson, 84, of Drury Run passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 surrounded by the love of his family at Bucktail Medical Center in S. Renovo. He was the beloved husband of Joan A. (Shroat) Summerson.

Born February 22, 1936 in Renovo he was the son of Mildred L. Stout. After graduating high school, he went on to serve in the National Guard. Tubber worked and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. In addition to several years as the Noyes Township Supervisor, he also served on the Renovo Borough Water Authority and as a Constable.

Tubber married the love of his life, Joan on December 22, 1972 and the couple shared over 47 years of marriage together. He loved spending time with his family, and especially adored visits from his great-grandchildren.

He was a lifetime member and former bartender of The Renovo Elks Lodge #334, and a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles. Tubber’s favorite pastimes were playing lottery tickets, being with his pets, and going out to eat, especially breakfasts with coffee.

In addition to his wife, Tubber is survived by the daughters of his heart; Jacqueline, Kimberly Lucas, and Lindsey (Jim) Shinn; four grandchildren, Korrie (Greg) Lucas, Courtney (Chad) Myers, Eugene (Colett) Shinn, and Lucas (Chelsie) McHenry; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kim Stout, Wayne Stout, and George Stout; his four-legged grandbaby, Gabby and his buddy, Rascal. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred L. Stout; two brothers, Gerald Stout and Gilbert Stout; and one sister, Cora Belle Fantaskey.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 A.M. on Friday, March 13, 2020 at First United Methodist Church, 7th Street, in Renovo with Pastor John C. Baney officiating. Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 5th Street, in Renovo is in charge of arrangements.

In memory of Tubber’s love for his pets, memorial contributions can be made to the Clinton County SPCA, 33 Mill Hill Road, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
