Regis “Rege” Samuel Werts, Sr. passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020, Regis “Rege” at the age of 67.
Regis was born on July 22, 1953 in Renovo, PA to Charles “Red” and Anna (Mills) Werts. He is a 1972 graduate of Bucktail Area High School.
A lover of music and talented drummer-turned-guitarist, Rege entertained the people of Western Clinton County for five decades as a member of several bands, including Slate Band, Even Up, Jumpher, and Sensible Shoes. Regis also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting pool with friends.
Regis was a lifelong resident of the Greater Renovo Area. In the mid-2000’s, he proudly served as a Supervisor of Noyes Township. In his later years, he loved to greet travelers and area residents with a smile and wave as they passed through Renovo Borough.
Regis was preceded in death by his father, Charles, his sister, Sharon Summerson, and his brother, Charles. He is survived by his mother, Anna, his sister, Roxanne (Daniel) Ehredt, his brother, Raymond (Phyllis) Werts, his three sons, Michael, Regis Jr. (Mandy), and Robert (Carol) Werts; his two daughters, Rebecca (Brendan) Reed and Sarah Werts; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A public memorial service for Rege will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday September 17, 2020 at the 16th Street Park in Renovo with Martha Sykes officiating.
