Richard G. Hurd

Richard G. Hurd, 91, a former resident of Charleton passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at Hillside Senior Living in Montoursville where he resided for the past 4 years.

Born June 9, 1929 in Jersey Shore he was a son of the late Paul N. and Ruth P. (Harer) Hurd.

Richard was married to the former Madeline Mae Martin who died November 7, 2019. They celebrated 65 years of marriage together.

He worked for Sylvania, Piper Aircraft for 29 years and retired from Corning Glass in State College.

Richard served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, cross-country skiing and bicycling.

Surviving are one son, Mark N. (Mary) Hurd of Lock Haven and three grandchildren, Bill, Stanton and Christina and a great grandson Jameson.

He is survived by two brothers David Hurd of Jersey Shore and Paul Hurd, Jr. of CT and a sister Letitia Bonner of Jersey Shore.

Richard was preceded in death by a son Stephen R. Hurd in 2016 and two brothers, Robert and Frederick and a sister Elizabeth.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
