Richard “Dick” Walizer, 89, of Renovo passed away February 15, 2021 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Sylvia J. (Hunter) Walizer who passed away April, 18, 2013. The couple had shared 53 years of marriage together.
Born November 23, 1931 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Warren “Bill” and Eleanor (Passmore) Walizer. Richard served in the Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, United Nations Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a Methodist.
He survived by his sister, Audrey Gilligan of Bradford, PA; his daughter, Theresa (Grady) Hall of Moselle, MS; his son Richard Walizer; his son, and Mark (Terri) Walizer of Lock Haven, PA; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; beloved neighbors, Dennis and Paula Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to parents and his beloved wife, Sylvia, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Maxwell Funeral Home in Renovo has charge of arrangements.
