LOCK HAVEN - Ronald E. “Buck” Botsford, 85, died Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Susque View, Lock Haven.
He was born on November 27, 1937 in Renovo and was the son of the late George F. and Alberta R. (Fox) Botsford.
Buck was a very caring person and lived life to the fullest. He was a member of Hillview Wesleyan Church, Flemington. Buck participated in the Special Olympics where he earned several medals over the years. He also enjoyed being a part of H.O.P.E. Programs in Renovo, decorating for the holidays, reading, playing games, basketball, going to picnics and being a part of his group home activities. Most of all he loved walking around Lock Haven with his bowling ball bag and going to Dunkin Donuts.
He is survived by one nephew; George Skrbin of California, one niece; Barbara Crupie of Pittsburgh, two great nieces; Amy (Mike) Shoemaker of Beech Creek and Dana (Dave) Zurn of Pittsburgh and several great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law; Helen and Vincent Skrbin, his niece; Mona Shoemaker and her husband Lewis and his best friend; Bob Kennedy.
The family would like to thank Hope Enterprises for all the love, care and opportunity that was given to Buck over the years. They would also like to thank the staff at Susque View for the care that was given to Buck during his stay there.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 11 with his Sunday School Teacher; Albert Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
