Stephen M. Keiper

RENOVO - Stephen M. Keiper, 66, of Renovo passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019 at his residence.

Born June 23, 1953 in Renovo, he was the son of Charles F. and Helen M. (Rada) Keiper. After high school, he joined the Air Force and served three years active duty. Later, he graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in horticulture and became a lifelong plant and gardening enthusiast.

Stephen retired from Consolidated Gas Company where he worked as a corrosion technician. He was a member of the Renovo Elks Club #334 and loved spending time outdoors, visiting Camp Little Late, fishing at Young Woman’s Creek, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penn State.

He is survived by two sons, John Keiper (Lauren Driscoll) of Philadelphia and Matthew Keiper (Rachel) of Philadelphia; two daughters, Elizabeth Keiper of Lock Haven and Aileen McGregor (Bill) of Lock Haven; three grandchildren, Gavin Getz, Brady McGregor, and Cameron McGregor; two sisters, Ellen Finch and Carole Eberhard (Bill); and caregiver, Angie Pedokus. In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by one brother, John Keiper; and two sisters, Nancy Deveney and Mary Ann Mills.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 at Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 5th St., in Renovo with Martha Sykes officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hyner with full military honors provided by the Renovo Honor Guard.
