William R. “Bill” Hritzko, 80, of South Renovo passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at his residence.
Born April 16, 1942 in Renovo he was the son of the late William M. and Rosaline L. (Casper) Hritzko.
He was member of the Renovo High School Class of 1960. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Shangri-La.
On September 21, 1963, he married his love, the former Rose Marie Kennis with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage.
Bill retired from Dominion Energy with 30+ years of service. He was a member of the Renovo Masonic Lodge #495 and the Williamsport Scottish Rite.
He was a former Renovo Little League Coach and was awarded the Coaches Good Guy Award. He was an avid Penn State football and Steelers fan and enjoyed spending time at his home with his family.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Marie (Jim) Spak of State College and Christine L. (Ronald) Resele of Danville and three grandchildren Michael Spak, Julia and Nicholas Resele.
He is survived by two sisters Shirley Ann (Harry) Stout of Mill Hall and Sharon (Charles) Miller of Renovo and several nieces and nephew.
Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Michael Hritzko and a special nephew, William P. Stout.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo, with Martha Sykes officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from 3:30 p.m. until the start of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made in Bill’s memory to the South Renovo Citizens Hose Company or the Bucktail Boys Booster Club, P.O. Box 341, Renovo, PA 17764.
Interment will be private at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner.
